If so, we’d love to hear from you About Us The Sherwood Forest Trust is a dedicated charity working to protect the natural and cultural heritage of Sherwood Forest. From restoring heathlands to engaging communities with nature and history, we’re committed to preserving this special place for future generations. Thanks to National Heritage Fund support, we’re launching an exciting three-year conservation programme to improve lowland heathlands and engage people with the forest through walks, learning sessions, and wildlife surveys. About the Role As our Community Conservation Officer, you’ll play a key role in empowering local people to connect with Sherwood Forest’s natural heritage. Your responsibilities will include: Designing and delivering conservation and tree-planting projects. Leading community conservation activities with local groups, volunteers, and families. Building relationships with landowners, local authorities, and community organisations. Managing contracts and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Supporting Sherwood Forest Trust events, including occasional evening or weekend activities. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking someone with: A good knowledge of land management practices and ecological habitats (especially heathlands and woodlands). Experience and enthusiasm for working with community volunteers. Strong communication skills to inspire and engage diverse audiences. A passion for conservation and involving communities in protecting green spaces. A qualification in ecology, conservation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
