We are seeking a dedicated person who is keen to learn and develop within the challenging and rewarding sector of homelessness, and to join the Homelessness Reduction Team.
Someone who prides them self on being empathetic, inquisitive, organised, and and has the discipline to work to agreed deadlines.
You will be prepared to go the extra mile, brokering services with partner agencies, proactively finding housing solutions and preventing homelessness immediately. Ensuring clients have clear expectations and every opportunity to engage in the assistance available to them under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Full training and support is provided.
Typical duties are:
Provide support and assistance where a person considers themselves to be homeless or threatened with homelessness.
Liaise with internal and external colleagues as necessary to provide suitable accommodation, utilising all resources available to the Council. Increase the take-up of housing options and minimise the use and cost of temporary accommodation.
To provide information and assistance to people approaching the Council for advice in relation to housing. Including tenant rights and responsibilities, accessing private and public sector housing and homelessness duties.
Carry out a full needs and financial assessment, including eligibility and Right to Rent checks.

Previous experience of working with the public, recognising the variety of cultures in the South Holland community.
Previous experience of working in a housing advice, homelessness, supported housing, allocations and/or private sector housing role
Excellent communication and negotiation skills enabling you to deal with complex clients, often in emotional and stressful situations.
Must be fluent in English.

ABOUT US: Boston Borough Council, East Lindsey District Council and South Holland District Council have formed the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership.
