Purpose of the Role: Responsibility for the on-site running of the registered service and accountable for all elements of service delivery, across supported accommodation premises and categories in line with OFSTED requirements. To lead and manage a team of Support Workers to deliver high quality, effective supported housing services and/or housing management services to 16-17 care leavers and 18 year leavers that meet their needs and meet contractual requirements and financial targets across two sites in Lewisham. On completion of probationary review to register with Ofsted as Registered Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Effectively lead and deliver services which comply with the regulatory framework.
2. Meet service quality standards and ensure your team adheres to all operational and policy standards.
3. Ensure all service user support and safety plans are in place, up to date, and reflect individual needs.
4. Ensure your staff team understands and meets the agreed financial standards on voids, arrears, and re-lets.
5. Act as a lead operational partner liaising with other agencies, partners, and commissioners as required.
6. Work collaboratively with internal support services - such as Quality, Policy, and Safeguarding as well as Finance, IT, and HR.
7. Promote service user involvement in service design and delivery.
8. Manage the rota and on-call arrangements to ensure appropriate support is in place.
People Management:
1. Lead the team by example, upholding Client's values and behaviours.
2. Set direction for a team to deliver organisational and local priorities.
3. Communicate organisational and local messages through regular team meetings.
4. Set clear objectives and performance targets for each direct report.
5. Work collaboratively across Client and with external stakeholders.
6. Challenge direct reports to consider better ways of delivering outcomes.
7. Provide development and support to your direct reports.
8. Manage recruitment, attendance, conduct, and performance of direct reports.
9. Recognise and reward positive behaviours and contributions.
Professional and Technical Expertise:
1. Responsible for at least 1 support contract.
2. Budget: From £200k up to £1.5 million.
3. Units - 25-150 depending on type and level of need of service users.
4. Ensure safeguarding and risk management is a key part of support work.
5. Be the accountable budget holder for your service and ensure financial targets are met.
6. Work with the central Asset Management Team to ensure effective property management.
7. Work in partnership with central Housing Management and Performance Team.
Organisational Performance and Compliance:
1. Ensure initial and regular assessments of potential or actual service users are delivered by direct reports.
2. Ensure all required health & safety checks are undertaken.
3. Set team performance targets and ensure they are delivered.
4. Contribute to identifying and developing bids for new and existing business.
5. Maintain up to date records via relevant systems and produce reports as required.
6. Positively promote and represent Client at all times.
7. Adhere to Client's Safeguarding and data policies and procedures.
8. Promote and carry out responsibilities with full regard to Client's Equality and Diversity Policy.
9. Keep up to date with relevant regulatory requirements of the sector.
