Job summary We have an interesting opportunity for a split post in West Norfolk. This is 0.4 WTE (substantive) based in our early intervention service, and 0.6 WTE (12-months) based in our older adults service. It is hopeful that the fixed term contract will be extended. Both posts sits within West Norfolk and based at Chatterton House. The successful candidate will join two small, but friendly and proactive psychology teams. One who provides psychological interventions for older adults requiring secondary care mental health input, the other for adults requiring assessment and treatment under the early intervention service. Psychology is valued and embedded within both services and the successful post holder will work under the direct supervision of the Principle Clinical Psychologist. The clinical scope of the role will include assessment and treatment for both functional and organic service users. Main duties of the job In the 0.4 WTE substantive part of the post, the post holder will be based in the West Norfolk EIP Team. This team has a cohesive and friendly culture and staff who have a wide range of skills and experience. The successful applicant will provide psychological assessment and treatment for people with psychosis and their families and carers. The post holder will form an integral part of the West Norfolk EIP multi-disciplinary team. Job planning will be completed with the successful candidate to ensure that they are able to work safely and competently in accordance with professional guidelines. There will be opportunities for further training in evidence based psychological interventions for early intervention. The main duties of the 0.6 WTE part of the job in the older person's CMHT are to provide assessment, formulation and psychological intervention to service users and carers within the older persons CMHT.You will provide evidence-based interventions for individuals as well as neuropsychological assessment as part of the memory treatment pathway. You will support colleagues in the CMHTs with consultation, supervision and training as necessary. There may also be opportunities to take part in quality improvement projects as part of a supportive and dynamic psychology team.
