More detail about the role
This is a new and substantive position in the Honiton-Ottery St Mary (HOSM)/Seaton-Axminster-Sidmouth (SAS) Cluster. The HOSM/SAS cluster is the largest cluster in all of Devon, having been formed a year ago by merging two existing clusters.
This is a genuinely unique role, bringing together two specialist services within the cluster for the first time. In terms of community health services, we could be the most advanced team in the country in terms of the combined hospice and dementia services offer.
We provide Hospice at Home services funded by Sidmouth Hospice at Home and Seaton League of Friends. We are in the process of setting up the service in Axminster, funded by Axminster League of Friends. The comprehensive and integrated nature of the services means that virtually everybody in the area dies in their preferred place of death and the model of care is very highly regarded nationally.
Given the fact that the cluster has one of the oldest populations not only in England but on the planet, these services are of vital importance to the people that we serve. We created this new management post in recognition of this and with an eye to future strategy, expansion and integration.
We are looking for a Band 7 nurse with experience in hospice care and/or dementia services. We want to attract people who love our approach and who have a passion for great leadership. If that sounds like you, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Send an email to nicky.hitchcock@nhs.net with your phone number and I will be in touch.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9 to 5
Interview Date: To be confirmed
For more information please contact: Richard Anderson, Community Services Manager on 07854 355246, richardanderson1@nhs.net
As an inclusive employer, the Royal Devon values diversity and is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential. Benefits
We will work together to maintain a culture that develops and supports you and your team. This might include funding for a care certificate, a degree or leadership qualifications. Or it might include days off to study, engage in CPD or rotational placements to help you hone your skills. Wherever you are heading in the NHS, we'll help you get there.
Looking after you is important to us. We strive to help our staff create a healthy work-life balance through flexible working schemes and our family friendly policies.
If you're starting out in the NHS, you'll start with 27 days paid annual leave (plus bank holidays), rising to 33 days plus bank holidays.
You'll benefit from access to our own comprehensive occupational health services, including counselling, onsite wellbeing activities and groups.
Salary is not the only financial benefit. You'll have access to an extensive range of staff discounts on shopping, fitness and leisure options and you can spread the cost of technology and home appliance purchases from major retailers.
You will also have access to other benefits including:
* National discount services such as the Blue Light Card and Health Service Discounts.
* Salary sacrifice options including our OFSTED rated outstanding nursery onsite at Exeter.
* Car lease schemes.
* The NHS Pension scheme (one of the most generous and comprehensive in the UK).
* Cycle to work scheme.
These are just a few of the benefits available if the role is something you are interested in, we'd love to hear from you.
