Location: Stoke On Trent
Shift / Hours: 37.5 hours per week (M-F 6am-2pm)
Reporting To: Site Operations Manager
Salary: £36-40,000 depending on experience
Overall Purpose: Ensure efficient running of the warehouse to contribute to the smooth running of production and customer order fulfilment while maintaining food safety.
Key Accountabilities and Tasks:
1. Responsible for security of the warehouse at all times.
2. Ensure production teams are kept supplied with raw materials.
3. Manage transport arrangements including documentation for hazardous goods.
4. Ensure smooth operation of warehouse including deliveries, picking and despatching.
5. Ensure company’s records and stock system are updated and accurate at all times.
6. Book goods received onto computer system, matching against purchase order.
7. Chase suppliers for certificates of analysis or other paperwork as required.
8. Despatch orders checking paperwork is complete and correct.
9. Monitor stock holdings to ensure accuracy and satisfactory storage conditions.
10. Investigate stock discrepancies reporting to senior management as appropriate.
11. Ensure warehouse is kept clean and tidy.
12. Report issues or non-conformances to management, particularly if related to food safety.
13. Locking up of site at the end of each trading day.
14. Any other duties commensurate with the role and within the level of role capability.
Communications:
1. Close liaison with Customer Service Manager, Site Operations Manager, and Technical Manager.
2. Liaison with internal colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
3. Clear and articulate verbal and written communication.
4. Bring to management attention any issues, particularly if related to food safety.
Key Skills & Experience:
1. Experience in management and training of junior staff.
2. Numerate and literate with excellent communication skills.
3. Able to deliver clear and concise ideas to senior management.
4. Proactive and organized with strong time management and planning skills.
5. FLT Driver.
6. Able to meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
7. Ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision and thrive both on own initiative and as part of a team.
