We are currently recruiting for a Senior Team Leader to work at our cooked bacon factory in Northampton, UK.

TMI Foods predominantly produces cooked bacon (pork).
The Vacancy
A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Team Leader to join the Cooked-Operations Team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is site-based at TMI Foods in Northampton (Lodge Farm Industrial Estate).
Job Purpose:
Reporting into an Operations Manager, this role is to manage an area of the factory ensuring it meets the production targets whilst operating in accordance with company policies and procedures (Food Safety, Quality, Health & Safety etc). This role involves managing a team of employees.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensure the team carries out their roles effectively and efficiently in accordance with training, food safety and quality procedures and health & safety procedures.
* Ensure the right skills and resources are deployed in the right areas.
* Assist in the training and development of new starters and the ongoing training of staff.
* Carry out all checks and processes that are relevant and appropriate for the area of responsibility and report any deviations.
* Ensure Good Manufacturing practices & housekeeping standards are followed and adhered to at all times.
* Responsible for the FSQMS system being adhered to and completion of Technical documentation.
* Drive and evaluate performance vs target through regular monitoring.
* Control, monitor and minimise waste.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
* Actively participate in DRM meetings.
* Liaise with colleagues in a professional manner to resolve issues as they arise.
* Monitor and record the required frequency relevant CCP checks e.g. Metal detection, weight checks, pH, labelling and coding, and action any deviations in line with procedure.
* Monitor and record at the required frequency all product temperatures from raw materials, pre-process, post-process, final packed product and distribution, reporting and actioning any deviations from the specification.
* Carry out general start-up checks including check weighers and metal detectors before production commences and report and action any issues where appropriate.
* Monitor and record all Quality standards, ensuring the quality of the product is maintained, reporting any deviations from the specification.
* Monitor and record at the required frequency WIP shelf life and labelling, reporting deviations from the specification.
* Participate in the taste panel.
* Ensure all shift paperwork is completed legibly.
* Work and manage yourself, the team and the processes in the department while ensuring health & safety of all is adhered to at all times.
* Work closely with the Maintenance & Engineering team in a professional and timely manner regarding machinery.
* Support the management team in all H&S initiatives.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Experience within food manufacturing.
* Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbal.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills (including written and spoken English).
* Strong attention to detail.
* Some experience of managing and motivating a team.
* Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative.
* Drive, energy and enthusiasm.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Some experience of using Sharepoint, Power Apps, PowerBi – Desirable.
* Ability to remain confidential, discrete, and professional at all times.
* A strong team player with the ability to build strong working relationships.
