Role
The Network Digitalisation, ANM team is recruiting an Engineering/Project Manager to play a key role in the evolution of SPEN towards DSO and TSO.
Responsible for the delivery, operation and maintenance of the ANM ED2 Programme - managing engineers, sub-contractors and budget. To coordinate and lead all areas of the SPD Programme.
Acting as a point of escalation for both Delivery and Support, participating in 24x7 Incident Management Rota.
This is a rewarding varied role suitable for both Senior Project Managers or SPEN Authorised engineering staff from Operational, Protection or Telecom backgrounds looking to progress their careers.
What you'll be doing
1. Creation of project plans and development of accurate capital expenditure forecasts and output projections on assigned projects, with full accountability for project, contractual and financial governance.
2. Manage interfaces with network outage planning to ensure the outage programme is fully informed by the requirements of the projects' investment programme.
3. Responsible for the delivery of outputs, incentive metrics, milestones in line with business targets and effectively manage project risk and mitigate the impact of issues that may emerge.
4. Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and supervising the delivery of services from them to ensure on-time, on-budget performance.
5. Escalation Support assisting with the resolution of escalated operational problems and restoration of service.
6. Perform all duties with a strong emphasis on health, safety, quality and environmental matters.
What you'll bring
You will bring a track record of delivery that balances technical and commercial judgement from either Project Management or Engineering experience.
Working knowledge of:
1. Engineering and/or Project Management of multi-disciplined teams.
2. Cyber security management and policies.
3. CDM Regulations and other relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.
4. SPEN Operational Networks.
Skills should include:
1. Numerically articulate with strong attention to detail.
2. Ability to devise solutions to complex problems & challenges.
3. Excellent interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills.
4. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical & non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing.
5. Ability to consult others within the business, resolve differences and present a common agreed perspective.
6. Ability to effectively work with external vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.
7. Effective prioritisation of work.
Minimum Requirement
* Degree in electrical, electronic or telecommunication engineering OR relevant experience OR HND/HNC (or equivalent) supported by a minimum of five years post-training experience in an engineering and/or Project management role within a utility business.
* Knowledge of Energy Networks health & safety requirements and compliance.
* Project management Experience.
* Numerate and able to deal with finances for the purposes of managing budgets or contracts with suppliers, including procurement and Frameworks.
* Must be a proven team player to work, promote and consolidate efficient team working relationships.
* Driving licence.
