Hire Desk Assistant (Powered Access)
Location: St Neots (full time office based)
Select Plant Hire Company Limited is part of Laing O'Rourke Plc, the major national construction and civil engineering company.
Role Overview:
* The remit of the hire desk function is to supply the customer with a professional, prompt and efficient service.
* Aim to turn around order within 24 Hours, collections within 72.
* To maximise the utilisation of Select Plants own equipment to its full potential.
* Liaise with customers to ensure correct equipment is supplied and invoiced accordingly.
* To maximise each customer order in terms of volume of product and price whilst maintaining, building and improving profitability to all stakeholders.
What will the role look like?
* Dealing with telephone calls in a professional and prompt manner.
* Provide help and advice to ensure the correct equipment/product is supplied to our customers.
* Process all enquiries, orders and emails efficiently up selling where possible with the wider Select business offering.
* To have a broad understanding of all hire desk processes and systems in order to have the ability to cover other team members where required.
* To monitor cross hire on a weekly basis, liaising with the Access workshop to ensure opportunities to exchange cross hires are made, to increase own plant revenue.
* Prompt action of any supplier invoice queries each month, keeping them to a minimum.
* Prompt response to the customer service team on customer queries.
* Aim to achieve and exceed financial targets in line with the department budget.
* Takes ownership of complaints, liaises with the appropriate people within Select and resolves the issue raised through the complaints process.
* On receipt of unconfirmed/unlinked reports, action accordingly.
* Have an understanding/responsibility for Health and Safety/environmental issues.
* Adopt a one team approach working together to provide the best possible service.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
Essential
* A decent level of IT proficiency
* The ability to plan and coordinate in order to meet and exceed client requirements
* An appetite for the job and genuine interest in providing an excellent customer service
* A diplomatic yet tenacious approach in order to generate and maintain suitable working relationships
Desirable
* To have basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Background in Plant Hire or Construction
* Individual that works well independently or as part of a team.
