Job summary The Speech and Language Therapy Community Team in Betsi Cadwaladr Centre have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Band 5 Therapist to join our friendly and supportive Community Speech and Language Therapy team in a full-time permanent post. This post will involve the successful candidate to work across the Adult Learning Disability (ALD) Team and our Paediatric Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Team. Main duties of the job The Adult learning Disabilities Team within the Community Speech and Language Therapy Team provides assessment and treatment of communication and dysphagia for patients with a learning disability needs in the community, working collaboratively with the patient their families and carers as part of the integrated community learning disability team. The successful candidate will also provide training in communication and dysphagia to patients with learning disabilities, their carers and their families as required. The Paediatric Additional Learning Needs team work across 3 special school sites across both Conwy and Denbighshire counties. The team also provide support and guidance for the rest of the Speech and Language Therapy Team when working with complex additional learning needs cases within mainstream schools. The team provide assessment and interventions within special school settings and work closely with families and education colleagues. The successful applicant will provide speech, language and communication needs training for families and education colleagues. The successful applicant will support the service development and transition of patients from ALN to ALD services The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
