About the role

This exciting role will lead the the cabling teams within Rail Traction to ensure that all cabling and containment systems and cables are installed in line with the customer/Balfour Beatty specifications and design documentation. In addition, the Cable Foreman will be responsible for site safe installation and management of agency and direct employed cable gangs.
What you'll be doing
* Oversee the delivery of cabling activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and meets both business and technical requirements.
* Monitor and allocate sufficient resources within the Cabling Teams to support forecasted production outputs and business needs.
* Address all technical queries and Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly to maintain workflow.
* Implement technical changes as needed, ensuring seamless integration with project requirements.
* Maintain rigorous document control over all technical documentation and information to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
* Proactively manage and resolve technical issues related to cable route designs, identifying risks and facilitating the resolution of any issues raised.
* Track project progress to ensure critical milestones are met as scheduled.
* Evaluate cabling teams' output to uphold productivity and quality standards.
* Stay informed of specification updates and changes to technical legislation.
* Record and address non-conformances, working closely with the Quality Team to investigate and resolve any reported issues.
* Deliver Toolbox talks and communicate updates to company policies and procedures to the Cabling Team.
Who we're looking for
* Experience as a Leading Cable Hand, with in-depth knowledge of IET Regulations regarding bending radii for various cable types and sizes. This includes expertise in handling power, control, instrumentation, and specialty cables installed in-ground, on racks, or in cleats.
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services (Installing and Inspecting Structured Cabling Systems) or an equivalent Level 3 Vocational Qualification (VQ) for power supply and distribution cabling, as recognized by the Joint Industry Board (JIB).
