This is an exciting time to join HPL finance team to support our rapid growth. The Senior Finance Manager reports directly to Head of Finance and works alongside the Business and Capital Finance Manager. The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for the line management of currently two employees. The role duties include the development and leadership of the financial accounting functions, to include all systems and processes involved in the management of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury (cash-flow) Forecasting and Financial Accounting including ledger control accounts.

Job responsibilities
* Responsible for the day-to-day proactive operation of the functions described in the job purpose.
* Reviewing, designing and implementing policies, procedures, systems and controls subject to approval by the Head of Finance.
* Ensure financial governance and tight financial controls are in place.
* Primary liaison contact with internal and external stakeholders, proactively addressing issues to improve performance. Working closely with auditors to address testing and resolve queries promptly.
* Deliver actions in accordance with the annual audit timetable (pre-agreed between the Finance Director, Head of Finance and the Auditors).
* Monitors finance team (AR/AP) key performance indicators taking remedial action to improve performance when necessary.
* Contribute into business cases and cost models as required, providing financial information.
* Provide specialist technical accounting and business knowledge, strong analytical skills, and effectively communicate complex financial issues to non-finance people.
* Responsible and accountable to the Head of Finance and Finance Director for adherence to statutory accounting requirements, standing financial instructions and other policies for internal control, corporate governance and reporting requirements.
* Provide timely and accurate accounting information.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified CCAB accountant and be actively undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Educated to degree standard.
Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive experience of financial accounting for transactions within a complex environment with exposure to reporting (internal and external), planning, accounts payable, accounts receivable and taxation.
* Experienced in accounts payable (ideally with evidence of success in achieving the national payment policy terms target).
* Experience and leadership experience in working with auditors and producing year-end and annual accounts.
* Experience of working with shared business services.
* Experience of managing: cash-flow, AR, AP, Payroll, reconciliations.
* Experience in a senior accounting role of 3 years or more.
