Construction Manager (Nuclear) – Aldermaston – Contract Until 31st December 2025 (40 hours per week) – £75 – £81.81 per hour (Inside IR35) – SC or DV Clearance
Our client is looking for a Lead Construction Manager to lead a multi-discipline team and coordinate with other functions to safely execute site installation works at a Nuclear site.
You will need to have excellent awareness of CDM, construction and health and safety legislation, as well as taking overall responsibility for ensuring delivery of projects and managing contractor/sub-contractors.
Experience in the Nuclear/Defence domain is essential for this role.
Working Patterns and location – This role requires 4 days a week on site.
The Key Responsibilities of a Construction Manager (Nuclear):
1. Monitoring the project deliverables meet with the agreed standards and satisfy stakeholder requirements at each stage of the project.
2. Support and develop the successful delivery of projects using key project management principles.
3. Chair and control stakeholder and supplier meetings at a senior level.
4. Communicates effectively with stakeholders including facility personnel, vendors and sub-contractors. Be capable of assignment to lead large scale and/or multiple projects.
5. Overseeing H&S forums and implementing H&S initiatives, ensuring safety is at the forefront of the construction phase.
6. Co-ordinating resources to achieve successful delivery.
7. Review plans with architects, surveyors, and engineers.
8. Management of on-site logistics.
9. Support the development of more junior staff through technical training and mentoring.
10. Feed into project programmes, design reviews and contract scope documents.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Construction Manager (Nuclear) role, however you will not be expected to have everything:
1. Experience in a previous role with Nuclear/Defence.
2. Membership of a recognised construction-related professional body.
3. Extremely knowledgeable about health and safety standards.
4. Extensive experience of working in a nuclear environment.
5. Ability to act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way.
6. Ability to work collaboratively and integrate into multi-disciplinary teams or work independently.
7. Ability to assess and resolve site planning and coordination issues.
