GSL Education is looking to hire a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant for a primary school in Bodmin. This role includes aiding small group interventions and promoting positive behaviour in the classroom. The school embraces an inclusive and innovative educational approach, aiming to meet all students’ needs to help them reach their potential. Prior experience in a school setting or with children who have additional needs would be beneficial.
This position is open to both full-time and part-time applicants.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies.
2. Providing one-on-one support to students with behavioural and learning challenges.
3. Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans.
4. Supporting the overall well-being of students and contributing to a positive school ethos.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
2. Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
5. Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.
To work with GSL Education, you should:
1. Have the right to work in the UK.
2. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
3. Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
