ABOUT US
We are a Community Interest Company and have been working in Cheshire East since 2016 providing a low cost and bespoke service to suit the individual needs of our clients, service users and schools. Our team of experienced counsellors support primary and secondary students with counselling and emotional education, and have delivered over 3,500 counselling sessions to more than 500 students. We have also been called upon to offer our counselling skills for the benefit of staff members and parents too.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a school counsellor for SWaNS you will play a crucial role in providing therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation to children and young people in schools within Cheshire East and neighbouring authorities.
You will liaise closely with the schools you work within ensuring the pupils receive an ethical and effective counselling service. You will maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions and interventions whilst consulting with pastoral teams in schools, parents/care givers and statutory organisations.
This is a face-to-face role and you will need to be available during school hours and able to fulfil all the commissioned hours. You will be a member of a relevant professional body, hold a DBS or be part of the update service. Please note that this position is on a self-employed basis.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for counsellors qualified to a minimum Level 5 diploma with experience or a strong interest in working with children and young people. A dedication to providing the best counselling service to the pupils in school is essential, along with excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to form strong relationships with school staff and SWaNS team members.
