Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust
We are looking for a Band 6 nurse to join one of our Community Nursing teams based at Trinity House in Ashford, Kent.
We are an "outstanding" rated Trust and we pride ourselves on providing consistent, high-quality care across all of our services. Our priority is to make sure all colleagues are protected as we go about our daily work and through that to make sure the care we provide for patients, clients, and service users remains as excellent as ever. We're a dynamic organisation, with a fast-changing service provision, and we take a flexible approach in terms of what we are able to offer.
This is a perfect opportunity for nurses wanting to move into a community-based setting. You will need a specialist practitioner district nurse qualification to perform your duties, but if you don't have this, don't let it deter you from applying as we are happy to take you on as a trainee while we support you to gain this qualification. You will benefit from on-the-job training and expert support from your team.
Main duties of the job
Our service operates seven days a week from 8 am - 6 pm. These extended working hours allow more flexible working for anyone looking for more flexible hours.
Weekend working is generally on a 1:4 ratio with days off during the week. There are two teams supporting patients registered with GP practices working in the Ashford area and surrounding villages within the Ashford Primary Care Network.
Each team has two senior nurses who take responsibility for a defined geographical area and provide clinical leadership to their Band 5, Band 4, and Band 3 staff. The team will work together to manage caseload patients, delivering a high-quality service.
Due to the community-based nature, you will need to drive your own car. Please be aware if we have a high number of applicants, we may close the job early, so it's best to get your application in early!
Additional Working Pattern: Monday to Friday between 8 am and 6 pm with rotational weekends.
