We are urgently recruiting for a Supply Chain & Purchasing Lead, you will be working for an international metal company based in Oldbury that has been established for over 65 years and supplies various industries including automotive, engineering and aerospace.
Benefits include 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays, an annual bonus based in individual and company performance, BUPA, free car parking and pension. Hours of work are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00 am to 2.30 pm on Friday.
You will be working in a fast-paced business, ensuring material is purchased timely from the group mills, and keeping the appropriate stock levels to meet sales demand.
As the Supply Chain & Purchasing Lead, you will be:
Using SAP to run MRP, managing the setup and reorder point for each part number, ensuring up-to-date lead time from the mills in SAP and updating safety stock profiles
Working closely with the Sales Team to understand customer forecasts and those growth products not visible by MRP
Placing transactional purchase orders with the group mills
Monitoring order delivery dates and taking any action when necessary to ensure good OTD from suppliers
Building good communication with Mills and looking for process improvements.
Placing orders and liaising with Sub Con suppliers
As the Supply Chain & Purchasing Lead, you will have:
An understanding of the steel industry's commercial aspects, including pricing, market trends, and supplier dynamics
Advanced knowledge and experience of MRP systems and processes
Working closely with the sales to understand commercial opportunities and ensure stock availability
Product knowledge in stainless steel, engineering steel and tool steel is desirable
Previous experience working within a similar position, experience working within the supply chain and developing a good planning strategy
Previous experience in using SAP, however, this is not essential
Strong communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse data, with strong computing skills using Microsoft Office and Excel
Good understanding of MRP and SAP work orders
You may have experience with the following: Production Co-ordinator, Supply Chain Co-odinator, Buyer, Procurement Planner, Production Team Leader, Supply Chain Lead, Metal Buyer, Purchasing Co-ordinator, Purchasing Manager, MRP Specialist or any other similar position Your salary will be circa £50,000 depending on experience plus a fantastic range of benefits
