This role involves conducting structural assessments of vehicle design, components, and materials through calculations and testing. The engineer will identify issues compromising durability or structural integrity and engineer solutions. They will liaise, compile, and distribute information across the organization to ensure vehicles meet customer specifications. The Role: Support the need for stress analysis and /or structural testing of complete vehicles, components and materials. Assist all stress analysis and structural testing. Contribute to the Department by providing guidance on the structural design of all new products. This is done by concurrently performing an in-depth structural analysis of all new products using finite element modelling tools. Derive suitable test programmes where necessary. Introduce quality-based procedures and checks within the production environment. Support any production improvements through engineering change formalities. Support the wider business on any component or material strength related queries. The Requirements Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Minimum 2:1. Vehicle Engineering Experience. Knowledge of, and ability to interpret relevant technical documentation. Computer literate in MS Office applications. In depth knowledge and understanding of structural analysis methods. Ability to write concise and accurate Engineering Reports in English. Experience in structural engineering using a range of materials in component and assembly design. Strong understanding of finite element model creation. Ability to analyse and verify designs for manufacture through use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques, hand calculations and testing.
