TRANSPORT CLERK - DARWEN
MONDAY TO FRIDAY 07:00-16:00
SALARY: £25,000
START: ASAP
The Role and Responsibilities
1. Reporting to the Transport Team Manager.
2. Assist in an effective and efficient transport administration service.
3. Undertake general duties to support the Transport Team Managers, such as answering the phone, issuing vehicle keys, allocating work, and updating Isotrak.
4. Check daily delivery documents to ensure correct store delivery and highlight issues as appropriate. Assist in any investigation regarding discrepancies or adverse results.
5. Focus on delivering and demonstrating sound planning and control skills to achieve targets while working with colleagues for continuous improvement.
6. Manually process amendments to manage the system and ease vehicle movements.
7. Issue instructions/directions to the drivers regarding the required destination/parking space of the inbound vehicle.
8. Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department.
About You
1. Experience of working within a transport environment is an advantage.
2. Knowledge of computerized scheduling packages would be an advantage.
3. Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines.
4. A good communicator, both verbal and written.
5. Excellent PC skills.
6. Must be adaptable to assist in all areas with a flexible team-based approach.
