Our adult services programme is looking to recruit a warm-hearted and thoughtful Female Support Worker to join us in the Dorchester and Weymouth area. This is a part-time position working 16-30 hours per week.
You would be required to interact and encourage the people we support living in their own homes with activities such as swimming, walking groups, day trips, and holidays. You would also be supporting with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and medication routines.
You would be required to work shifts such as 07:00 - 16:00, 14:00 - 22:00. You would work alternate weekends and do sleep-ins (sleep-ins receive an additional payment).
A support worker's day would include:
1. Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community.
2. Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments, and medication.
3. Following the support plan in place for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on changes in behaviour.
4. Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, and medication.
We deliver a 24/7 service and have various full and part-time hours available to suit your needs. To support Jake’s package, the hours would ideally be within 8 am - 4 pm or 4 pm - 10 pm with one sleep-in a week between Monday – Sunday.
