Job DescriptionClinical Responsibilities: Provide high-quality, patient-centred medical care to the practice population. Undertake consultations, assessments, and treatments for patients of all ages. Manage acute and chronic conditions, ensuring evidence-based care. Participate in duty doctor and telephone triage on a rotational basis. Prescribe medications in accordance with local and national guidelines. Conduct home visits where clinically appropriate. Support and implement public health initiatives and preventive care. Maintain accurate clinical records in line with best practices and regulatory requirements. Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.Leadership & Partnership Responsibilities: Actively contribute to the strategic development and financial sustainability of the practice. Take responsibility for a specialist clinical area (e.g., dermatology, minor surgery, womens health). Attend and contribute to partnership and practice meetings, influencing key decisions. Ensure compliance with CQC standards, NHS contractual obligations, and medico-legal requirements. Engage with ICS/ICB, PCN, and other external bodies to enhance service provision. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the practice. Support the training and mentorship of junior doctors, trainees, and medical students.Operational Responsibilities: Work collaboratively to ensure efficient workload distribution among clinicians. Oversee and support HR, and staff development. Identify and drive new income opportunities, including enhanced services and contracts. Ensure adherence to QOF, LES/DES, and national targets. Implement policies and protocols to maintain high clinical and administrative standards.Additional Responsibilities: Participate in practice audits, service evaluations, and research initiatives. Lead or support significant event analysis and risk management. Represent the practice at local and regional meetings. Drive the development of new healthcare services to improve patient outcomes. Key Skills & Qualifications Full GMC registration with a license to practice. MRCGP qualification or equivalent. Inclusion on the NHS England performers list. Strong clinical expertise in primary care, with a commitment to patient-centred care. Leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience or willingness to develop business and financial acumen in partnership working. Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement. Understanding of NHS frameworks, QOF, CQC requirements, and PCN structures.
