About the Role
Do you have a passion for helping children with complex needs thrive in education? Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Worker to join our team in Cardiff, working within a school setting. This role involves supporting students with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and other additional learning needs.

What You’ll Do
* 1:1 and Group Support: Provide tailored assistance to students with complex needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop key life skills.
* Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Specialist Interventions: Assist with sensory activities, speech and language strategies, and emotional regulation techniques.
* Care Responsibilities: Support with personal care and mobility needs where required (e.g., toileting, feeding, or using mobility aids).
* Promote Independence: Encourage students to achieve their potential through patience and positive reinforcement.
* Create a Safe Space: Help foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels supported and valued.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills and Requirements:
* Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs or disabilities, either in education or care.
* A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively with staff and families.
* Willingness to assist with personal care needs when required.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply with our support).
* Registration to the Education Workforce Council(EWC)
Desirable Qualities:
* Previous experience in a similar role, such as Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Care Worker.
* Training or knowledge in areas such as Makaton, PECS, or manual handling.
* Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or health and social care.
