We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit Team. The team sits within our Corporate Centre and provides the assurance services to the Combined Authority by delivering a robust audit and investigation programme each year. The focus of the work includes strategic assurance across the breadth of activities of the Combined Authority and particularly supports the major programmes and projects including key deliverables around Mass Transit, Bus Franchising, Better Homes, Adult Education Budget to name a few. The Role Reporting into the Head of Internal Audit your key responsibilities will include: Producing high quality information and reports to a range of stakeholders that will help to drive higher standards of governance, transparency and accountability, this includes reporting to our Governance and Audit Committee Liaising proactively with other Combined Authorities and Government Agencies to drive best practice and effective sharing of information Successfully managing a small team of auditors and/or investigators as they work to deliver the agreed annual audit plan Helping to positively develop the internal audit function in order to drive improvement to internal controls, risk management and corporate governance.
