This Opportunity:
Palladium’s Economic Growth and Green Economy (EGGE) team is delivering large-scale economic development, capital mobilisation and climate transition programmes across Africa and Asia for the UK FCDO and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. We are expecting continued growth in 2025 and looking to bolster our team with highly motivated individuals with a proven track record in both business development and delivery of impactful programmes.
The Manager will play a pivotal role in driving business development as we identify, grow and expand our pipeline of new projects with the UK Government and other donors. They will also play an important role in delivering new projects in collaboration with our national, regional and global teams.

Reporting Lines: The role reports to the Director, EGGE.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Business Development:
1. Effectively develop strong new and maintain existing client relationships through interactions with clients at a technical level during the business development cycle.
2. Effectively manage priority proposals, including identifying and recruiting key experts, negotiating with international and local partners and developing win themes.
3. Play a significant role in the development and drafting of high-quality technical proposals, including designing methodologies and approaches to client challenges.
4. Play a significant role in the development of the EGGE business development strategy and planning, including through research on issues, countries, clients, partners and competitors and market intelligence gathering.
Programme Delivery Excellence and Management:
1. Contribute to the successful implementation of Palladium’s programmes and delivery of lasting outcomes to complex development challenges.
2. Lead the implementation of Palladium’s project management framework on selected programmes in the capacity of Project Manager, including both operational and technical aspects of the project.
3. Proactively identify and mitigate risks and stay attuned to political, social, economic and security developments in project countries and regions.
Sector Expertise and Thought Leadership:
1. Identify, build and maintain effective relationships with consultants, partners and thought leaders in key EGGE technical areas.
2. Co-lead research, analysis and publication of case studies and other knowledge products to position Palladium as a thought leader in the EGGE space.
3. Proven ability to work on multiple activities/projects simultaneously and adapt to new work priorities as they change.
4. Strong technical writing skills, and the ability to convey technical information in a clear and easily accessible format, in support of programme delivery and business development.
5. Proven ability to effectively manage and train people.
6. Proven experience identifying and applying complex program management processes.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients, and consultants.
8. Financial acumen and the ability to generate, interpret, and analyse financial reports and forecasts using Excel and other financial reporting/forecasting systems as demonstrated by experience.
9. Ability to travel and work in developing countries for extended periods of time if needed.
10. Strong editing skills and demonstrated competence using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
11. Track record in successfully implementing business development initiatives for major donor-funded programmes, ideally in the economic growth space.
12. Experience working on large-scale FCDO-funded economic growth programmes.
13. Experience developing financial proposals and effectively managing complex programme budgets.
14. Professional working proficiency in another language, with priority given to Spanish, French, Portuguese and Arabic.
