Position summary Here at Nestlé Health Science, we are recruiting a Packaging Technical Specialist. Reporting into the Senior Project Manager, and with a collaborative approach to working with related functions and Group Packaging, this role will play a key part in ensuring effective coordination and optimization of all aspects of change management from new product introduction to minor adjustments. Including compliance with prevailing UK and Export legislation. Ensure all packaging complies with corporate guidelines relating to NHW and other Nestle brand initiatives. Provide expert support to the market and liaise with local & global counterparts to ensure right first time and in time. To support NHSc UK&I in all artwork change and packaging projects to ensure the businesses goal around innovation and expansion and also operational excellence is supported. Support the project management team to deliver I2L artwork projects and mandatory pack change projects as part of the NPD agenda, aside from managing own projects, be a liaison for other I2L projects where packaging needs are present. A day in the life of a Pack Tech Specialist In this role, you will deliver all new and changed packs to market 'right first time' through the control, coordination and application of relevant legal, statutory, technical and commercial data. However, you will also: Create specifications for new packaging formats for the factories where the products are made,, coordinate the on-time completion of all artwork changes Liaising with third party reproduction houses & print suppliers to ensure optimum print reproduction Ensure packaging is sustainable (OPRL) and compliant with Nestle standards For new business acquisitions / new product launches for UK&I market ensure DOCs is compliant and work closely with above market compliance team Coordinate production of initial artwork with T&D teams, marketing, setting deadlines to ensure sign off can take place on time. Project manage the following elements to create a pack change: PCAS data, technical drawing, substrate, artwork, print process, NHW, barcode, relevant legislative data and submit to relevant repro supplier Provide technical advice to design agency / marketing on the technical elements of artwork from initial design stage, repro, through to final approval. Coordinate approval of artwork with Nestle defined sign offs (Technical, Marketing, group regulatory, etc) proof reading at each version as applicable. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders above market to ensure accurate artworks. Manage sign off of first printing to ensure it is compliant with samples and defined colour proofs. Requires ability to coordinate a number of stakeholders to manage sign off in a timely manner What will make you successful? Ideally, we’re looking for someone with previous experience with packaging materials and processes. Formal materials training can however be provided if the ideal candidate has not got a packaging material related background. The role requires an ability to work closely colleagues across various teams in the factories, 3rd parties and the wider business. You’ll have a ‘hands on’ style, working with multiple teams from a technical perspective looking to build working standards and procedures. You will likely come from a technical, engineering or equivalent manufacturing background. You will sit within the project management function and work closely to deliver the ambitious NPD pipeline and mandatory projects where packaging updates and renovations are required. You will be passionate, tenacious, results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. Acting as an ambassador for the Nestle brand, you will have the ability to influence across all levels. It is important you represent NHSc and stay connected with other packaging experts within Nestle ensuring we have the support and direction required as a business in all packaging areas. Willingness to learn and it would be beneficial if you have some knowledge of the idea to launch (I2L) mindset and framework, but this will also be offered as training within induction.
