Based within the Education Project Team, in the Civic Centre, Motherwell, you will report to the Education Project Co-ordinator.
With an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject, you need to be an excellent communicator and have the ability to cope with multiple demands in a fast-paced environment while keeping calm under pressure.
To support this role, you will require:
* To be responsible for taking a lead role within a number of service areas.
* Lead on tendering and contracting activity, including tender administration, tender evaluation, supplier negotiations, and contract award.
* To take a proactive approach to service spend and maintaining an overview of the procurement activity within these areas.
* Assist in ensuring that Education and Families procurement activity is carried out within a performance management framework.
* Have a variety of procurement experience and knowledge.
* Work in partnership with colleagues, educational establishments, and other public sector organisations.
Knowledge of the Council's Contract Standing Orders and Financial regulations would be advantageous.
With excellent organisational and IT skills, you will be able to utilise various Microsoft Office packages, and be a clear written and verbal communicator, with the ability to analyse information and produce reports.
You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team within Education and Families, who currently operate an agile model of home-working and office-based work. You may be required to travel throughout North Lanarkshire.
This position is temporary for a period until 27/11/2026.
