Sharp Consultancy has been retained by our client, an instantly recognisable leader within their market who are embarking on a key recruitment process to find a best-in-class Chief Financial Officer to drive the business into its next stage of significant growth and development.
Following a period of sustainability across a challenging trading climate, attentions are now focused towards growth, investment and development of a culture that can drive the business towards new heights and provide sustained profitability, growth and further market success.
As the business embarks on this growth, a key appointment will be the successful recruitment of a new CFO to lead the finance function and to integrate new processes and better business critical information.
You will be a C-suite team member with leadership responsibility for finance relationships both within the business and externally.
You will be the main lead across the finance team through day-to-day activities, finance strategy and business partnering. Leading the organisation in financial discipline, cost focus, production efficiency and profit maximisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading all aspects of finance strategy.
* Stakeholder management both internally including managing the dynamics of an owner-managed business alongside wider financial relationships (Banks, Finance providers and Credit institutions).
* Leadership of finance team - 4 direct reports and total team of 10.
* Accountable for monthly management accounts, including presentation to exec team.
* Leading statutory and financial reporting.
* Ownership of regulatory compliances (SAO, DPO and Company Secretarial).
* Leading a complex costing and revenue system, working closely with operations.
* Leading cash management and forward cash planning. Treasury mitigation including FX and Energy Hedging.
* Ownership of finance ERP system including working with the ongoing implementation of Microsoft Dynamics.
* Accountable for Budgeted and Forecasting processes.
* Ensuring the business has the right information for decision making and driving an ROI culture.
* Determining required finance change projects and ensuring delivery.
* Recruiting and developing for a business partnering ethos across the organisation and delivering the right information to drive profit improvement/cost reduction.
* Providing coaching and development to finance team.
* Ensuring the control environment is best practice.
Specific qualifications required for the role:
* Fully qualified Accountant, preferably Chartered (ICAEW/ACA).
* Extensive PQE.
* Strong experience of manufacturing industry at CFO or FD level.
