ROLE OVERVIEW:
As an engineer surveyor you will be expected to take full responsibility for your designated area of work.
This will include planning work to ensure inspections do not become overdue, contacting clients to book site
visits, undertaking engineering inspections in compliance with LOLER, PSSR, COSHH and PUWER
Regulations (dependent upon competency and skill levels), complete reports using a company issued tablet
to interact with the company planning and reporting system. Operate under UKAS accreditation to ISO
17020. Assist with training of other engineer surveyors and trainees, where applicable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan your own inspection visits based on due dates and geography.
Confirm visits with clients to avoid unannounced attendance.
Ensure inspections are planned to avoid missing any due dates.
Plan work to achieve guideline daily inspection levels.
Undertake inspections of equipment in line with relevant regulations (LOLER, PSSR, COSHH,
PUWER)
Work to all company procedures to maintain compliance with ISO 17020 and UKAS accreditation
where applicable.
Complete inspections using the company system via issued tablet.
Communicate professionally with clients to discuss inspection findings.
Maintain communication with your line manager & office staff using telephone and/or email.
Remain updated on all company policies and procedures via shared drive information.
Maintain professional knowledge levels via relevant publications and updates relating to standards.
Adhere to company and client safety systems and safe working practices.
Provide guidance and training to trainee engineer surveyors and engineer surveyors where you have
been given authority to do so.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
NVQ Level 3 in an associated mechanical engineering discipline
HND/HNC/Degree level in a mechanical engineering subject (desirable)

TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Suitable experience working on relevant equipment.
Competent in at least 1 discipline (e.g. LOLER, PSSR, COSHH)
Full driving licence.
IPAF licence (desired – although training can be given)
Proficient with mobile tablet technology
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word / Excel
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work remotely and use own initiative.
