Role Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic trainee to join our General Surgery unit at the equivalent FY2/CT1 level. The training and responsibilities of the posts will be tailored for the appointees; however, this is a Trust post therefore training will not be recognised by the Deanery. You will be allocated a supervisor and given in-house training and access to theatres.
This substantive part-time post will be based within GI, working between Colorectal and Upper GI Teams depending on ward/patient numbers. This post would be expected to work days a week on Mondays and Thursdays/Fridays. Within these teams, you will have the opportunity for training sessions with the colorectal/Upper GI team in both elective and emergency work.
While this post is not part of the on-call rota, there will be opportunities to cover sickness, which would be paid at locum rates for the additional hours.
