Buying Assistant We are seeking a vibrant Buying Assistant to join our dynamic Buying teams here at Harrods. We are recruiting for a range of categories within Fine Jewellery, Beauty, Food & Home. About the Role In this role you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Buying team through working closely with the Assistant Buyer and Buyer of the category to drive commercial performance and enhance the customer experience. The Buying Assistant will help to ensure the smooth running of the Buying Office, across all channels (Store, Online & Regional Sites), and both operational models (Own Buy and Concession). Other responsibilities will also include: Creating the department Look Book each season, highlighting the key season trends and featuring all the products bought for the season from each brand. Conducting competitor shops both in store and online to assess range, merchandise mix, price points and new labels. Providing support to Buyers and Assistant Buyers with selection and quantification of orders where required. Preparing agendas for Buying appointments and trips. Requesting order confirmations from brands, ensuring all information is checked and accurate, making/suggesting changes where relevant. Completing Magazine submissions and Social Media submissions monthly ensuring the best brands, products and trends are being featured. About You You will have a strong understanding of the luxury industry, including key trends, brands, and launches, along with insight into our customer profile to support trade-driving suggestions. You'll excel at working at pace, identifying new brand opportunities, and maintaining exceptional service for our brand partners. You’ll have have prior knowledge of the buying cycle or a relevant qualification, strong relationship-building skills, and excellent written and verbal communication. You will bring a solutions-focused mindset, attention to detail, and strong numeracy and analytical skills. You will also have: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; SAP knowledge is a plus. Strong prioritization and deadline management. Adaptability to shifting priorities. A proactive and solution-oriented approach.
