Finance Business Partner - outskirts of Carlisle, commutable from Carlisle and West Cumbria

Our client is a highly regarded manufacturing company based near Carlisle, employing 150 staff and a turnover of approximately £50 million. They are currently recruiting a talented Finance Business Partner who excels in communication and can effectively partner between accounts, operations, and manufacturing.
This company takes great pride in producing premium products for their established customer base.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller typical duties of this role include:
1. Providing a weekly P&L forecast to the finance and operational team
2. Preparation of monthly Management Accounts
3. Ensure all results and forecasts are accurately represented in the Group reporting systems
4. Agreeing and reconciling intercompany balances each month
5. Periodic Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure robust balances and to ensure a clean audit
6. Provide insightful and value-added information to help drive business performance and exceed targets
7. Preparation of the Annual Budget, liaising with relevant managers to ensure buy in
8. Stock – Ensure robust stock values and provisions plus forecast to ensure slow moving stock is minimized.
9. Stocktake – co-ordinate the bi-annual stocktake and ensure current stock is reflected on SAP
10. Lead Capex & monthly spend reviews
11. Review Capital Investment Appraisals and forecast capital expenditure spend
12. Product Costings – Ensure products are costed accurately and updated in SAP
13. Ensure financial compliance and governance, review procedures and make improvements
14. Look at new ways to automate and simplify processes
15. Audit – lead contact person for external audit – query resolution
16. Support, develop and train budget holders with their financial understanding
17. Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with senior managers and their teams as the go to person for financial matters
18. Cover the Financial Controllers duties when they are absent from the business
What you'll need to succeed
* Part Qualified /Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
* Excellent attention to detail
* Able to work as part of a team, under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Strong organisational skills
* Ability to plan ahead and prioritise key tasks
* Advanced excel skills, able to set up new reports
* Excellent oral, written and communication skills
* Understanding procedures in the finance department
* Experience of manufacturing is desirable but not essential
* Experience of ERP systems is desirable but not essential
