We're looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Transportation team based in Liverpool. The team is designing a wide range of building types and site redevelopments in various construction sectors such as education, retail, blue light, conservation, and commercial, for a mixture of public and private clients. Location: Liverpool
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Civil Engineer, you'll be working within the Civil and Structural Engineering team, supporting them in design in the fields of civil engineering and sustainable urban drainage systems.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Producing and checking calculations, reports, drawings, design models, schedules, and specifications within a quality assurance environment.
* Visiting building sites, carrying out site surveys and inspections, and attending project meetings at other Kier, consultant, and client offices.
* Checking and coordinating civil engineering design information with other technical disciplines.
What are we looking for?
This role of Civil Engineer is great for you if:
* You hold professional qualifications such as BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering and Graduate or Associate Membership of ICE or IStructE or IWEM, with aspirations to become a Chartered Civil Engineer.
* You demonstrate relevant knowledge of designing building and car park/road drainage and SUDS systems to CIRIA 753 guidance, within a professional Civil and/or Structural Engineering design office environment, and have an understanding of underground drainage design to European standards, including designing retaining structures and external works, as well as knowledge of the CDM Regulations and UK construction techniques.
* You possess a full driving licence to visit other sites/offices.
