Starting rate £17.12ph 40 hr week 6am to 2pm
Time and a half plus double on Sundays, plenty of overtime available.
Job Summary for a plater
We are seeking a skilled Plater to join our team. The Plater will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal parts according to specifications using hand and power tools. This role requires someone with mechanical knowledge and experience in welding.
Plater-Duties
- Utilise hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble metal components
- Perform welding tasks MIG to join metal parts(tack welds)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
- Work with sheet metal to create various components
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to meet standards
- Adhere to health and safety regulations in the workshop
Plater-Qualifications
- Previous experience in plating especially heavy plate work
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for metalwork
-Able to use the gas axe for weld preps and general burning
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with MIG welding techniques
- Knowledge of basic maths for measurements and calculations
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship

Wigan, Greater Manchester: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
Plating: 4 years (preferred)
Heavy plate work: 1 year (preferred)
