The Role - School Cleaner
To carry out a cleaning service in specified areas of the school to a high standard as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor and/or Site Manager and in accordance with the cleaning specification. Some flexibility is required as there may be times when you are required to assist with staff shortfalls or emergency situations.
This is a part-time permanent position where the suitable person will work 4 PM - 6 PM Monday to Thursday and 3 PM - 5 PM on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
1. To ensure the correct use of cleaning materials and understand the safe use of all substances and manage to COSHH regulations.
2. To ensure the correct collection, storage, and removal of waste/rubbish from the work area to the collection point.
3. To ensure you are adhering to the colour coding directives and are regularly changing mop heads, cloths, and other equipment.
4. To ensure that you always conduct yourself in a professional and smart manner and wear any uniform or PPE as provided.
5. To check and replenish all consumable dispensers in all the toilets and tea points.
6. To attend to spillages and other emergency cleaning.
7. To clean and sanitise touch points, door handles, push plates, and other surfaces.
8. To attend training as and when required.
9. To comply with the service level agreement.
10. Damp-wipe tables, chairs, desks, and hard surfaces.
11. Vacuum all soft floors and carpets.
12. Mop hard floors and empty bins.
Skills
1. Experience in a school environment would be preferred.
2. To be able to demonstrate the behaviour required as outlined in the Living the values section of the Pinnacle Way booklet.
