Randstad C&P are currently recruiting for a Project Lead to manage to major residential development valued at over £100m. The scheme is based in Reading, will involve mid-rise apartment buildings and liaision with NHBC. The scheme is currently in early works, so porevious experience of involvement in preconstruction, design, planning and enabling works are all essential.

As the Project Director, successful applicants will have full responsibility for leading the project team, coordinating with key stakeholders, and ensuring that all phases of the development-from inception through to completion-are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure milestones are met.
2. Act as the main point of contact for all stakeholders, including investors, clients, contractors, architects, and local authorities.
3. Oversee the procurement of contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
4. Manage risk, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and mitigate project challenges in real time.
5. Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure alignment with project specifications.
6. Report regularly on project progress, financials, and performance to senior leadership and investors.
7. Drive excellence in delivery and ensure that the finished product meets design, quality, and sustainability standards.
Requirements:
8. Proven track record as a Project Lead/Director managing large residential or mixed-use developments.
9. Strong experience with mid-rise building construction, ideally with a residential focus.
10. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
11. Solid understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and local building regulations.
12. Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-pound project budgets.
13. Ability to foresee and manage risks and resolve challenges efficiently.
14. Experience in coordinating with design, engineering, and construction teams.
15. Knowledge of sustainability practices in construction will be a plus.
Qualifications:
16. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent)
17. Chartered Membership of a recognised construction or project management body (e.g., CIOB, RICS, APM) is preferred.
18. Relevant construction qualifications including SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid etc.
