O&M Engineer - Offshore Wind - 12 month outside IR35 Contract
Eden Scott are pleased to be supporting their Offshore Wind Client with the appointment of an O&M Engineer to join the team. The position is predominantly based from home with travel to and from head office in Edinburgh. Some site based travel may also be required.
The position is ideally suited to a degree qualified engineer who has gained experience within the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) phase of an offshore wind project. The successful contractor will assume responsibility for supporting the development and execution of the O&M strategy as a member of the project team, functionally reporting into the O&M Package Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
* Assist in continued evaluating of the most optimal O&M strategy and operational set-up for the project.
* Feed into the OPEX modelling process, ensuring assumptions and yield profiles are robust using input from necessary project stakeholders and suppliers.
* Provide input, review, and comment on the designs of foundations, substation/s, service vessels, site facility and harbor infrastructure to ensure suitability from an O&M perspective.
* Assist in optimising the projects financial planning activities, such as long-term OPEX modelling, with a focus on reducing LCOE.
* Ensure timely delivery of operations deliverables for FID and the subsequent construction/execution phase.
* Develop, procure, and support the set-up of O&M communications and marine coordination for the construction phase through to operational handover.
* Support development of local content and promote economic growth in the chosen O&M harbour location and surrounding area.
* Support the Project HSE Manager in the development of the Site Safety Management Plan and strive to deliver HSE best practice in all aspects of operational planning.
* Preparation of tender documentation for procurement activities and O&M service contracts, whist assisting in the negotiation and final contract agreement.
* Support preparation for Construction handover and operational readiness.
Experience Required:
* Good understanding of current health and safety legislation applicable to offshore operations and electrical generation
* Experience in contract management and negotiation skills
* Experience in budget preparation and management
* Offshore wind experience and knowledge of communications systems and marine coordination.
* Project Management experience having demonstrated strong analytical skills and a structured approach to solving complex problems.
* Demonstrate solid people influencing skills, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across different cultures and geographical locations.
* Have an understanding of operational and/or project environments and experience in developing and justifying project concepts, scope and costs.
Day Rate: Up to £550 per day (Outside IR35)
