Enthusiastic applications are invited to apply for the role of a Support Administrator to work within the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre. The post holder will provide administrative support to the Administration and Medical Secretarial Teams and Clinicians for their work within the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre. They will join a team of Medical Secretaries and Support Administrators who are engaged and experienced in dealing with the team of 29 consultants and their associated clinical teams. The post holder will require excellent communication and organisational skills.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an individual who will enjoy working within an interesting, varied, and challenging environment, who offers excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the aptitude to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, GPs, and referring hospitals. The successful applicant will be a proactive team member assisting with a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
1. Uploading essential documents and reports onto specified systems,
2. Triage phone calls,
3. Dealing with incoming post and e-mails,
4. Assisting with clinic preparation and administration to ensure the secretarial team can focus on providing an efficient and effective service to clinicians and patients.
They will possess demonstrable and efficient administration skills combined with good IT skills with a can-do attitude in order to ensure essential support is provided to the teams. Previous administration experience, particularly in a hospital environment, would therefore be an advantage.

Job responsibilities
1. To work within the Administration Support team ensuring the timely uploading of essential patient documentation and reports onto Cerner, the trust's patient Administration System.
2. To undertake responsibility for assisting the medical secretaries with ensuring all clinic preparation is in patient notes in a timely manner.
3. Be responsible for working both independently and managing own workload, demonstrating efficient organisation ensuring all aspects of office support are covered as appropriate.
4. To work autonomously within a team, providing full support to the secretarial practice and their clinical team.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent.
* RSA II or equivalent in word processing/audio typing, RSA III, Medical secretarial qualification (BSMS Certificate) or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
* Demonstrates the ability to prioritise workload and to adapt effectively to changing priorities.
* Experience of MS Office and associated Software.
* Experience of assisting in mentoring, training, or supervising others.
