Why are we recruiting?
Please note - This is a Hybrid role which can be based at either Welwyn Garden City or our Love2shop Liverpool Office.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Infrastructure Team as an Infrastructure Engineer to help us drive stability and improvements to our PayPoint IT Infrastructure while we continue to push forward with our next gen cloud technology and automation.
What will you be doing?
1. Ensure automation of tasks is at the forefront of speed to deployment of new project work or existing improvements to the infrastructure.
2. Operational support of the Infrastructure carrying out 2nd and 3rd line analysis of incidents and problems.
3. Engaging with relevant 3rd party support to assist with incident resolution.
4. Resolution, Root Cause Analysis, Impact Analysis and Escalation should be carried out in a timely manner with detailed documentation in the ticketing platform.
5. Ensure compliance and operation within all company controls and security standards.
6. Assist with Projects and Infrastructure Delivery.
7. Proactively drive automation of infrastructure tasks to guarantee the outcome of repeatable tasks.
8. Identify improvements to existing processes ensuring that with agreement, these improvements are implemented in line with PayPoint standards.
9. Service improvement through best practice and new and innovative technologies.
10. Ensure consistency and quality of the service so that all support tickets are progressed in line with operational service levels.
11. Review and approve changes in line with the Change Management Process.
12. Implement, maintain and test PayPoint DR services as and when required to do so.
13. Update documentation, policies and procedures as well as ensuring that they are followed.
14. Cover on call for 1 week out of 4 per month.
15. And any other duties where applicable.
What would we like from you?
1. Proven Production Support or Project Delivery experience.
2. Proven ability to document and explain designs.
3. Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Expert Knowledge in the following:
1. Windows Server OS’s (Ideally from 2016 to 2022).
2. Full Windows Stack including DHCP, DNS, AD.
3. Linux (Ideally Ubuntu, RedHat and Rocky).
4. Microsoft Exchange 2013/2016.
5. Microsoft Office 365.
6. Microsoft Azure Stack from Compute, Networking, to Azure Active Directory.
7. Hyper-V.
Proven support experience in the following:
1. VMWare.
2. NetApp.
3. System Center.
4. Cisco, Routers and Switches.
5. Microsoft SQL.
6. IaC Technologies (Ansible, Terraform, etc).
Understanding of security in relation to network, server, applications, data, and databases.
It would be great if you already have:
1. PCI-DSS compliance.
2. Proficient in PowerShell Scripting, Bash Scripting or Python.
3. Windows Storage Spaces and Storage Spaces Direct.
4. HPE Hardware.
5. Design of Highly Available Systems.
Experience in:
1. Delivering projects and solutions from inception to completion.
2. Any experience with the following software products:
1. zScaler.
2. CrowdStrike.
3. SIEM.
4. Solarwinds.
5. Zabbix.
6. Grafana.
7. Azure DevOps.
8. Jenkins.
