Position Summary
The Student Counsellor is primarily responsible for supporting the wellbeing of students from Prep to year 7 / 8. The role is offered three days per week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
The successful applicant will
* Hold relevant tertiary qualifications including a Masters or Doctorate in Educational and Developmental or Clinical Psychology.
* Have full Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
* Have experience in providing counselling services to children and adolescents, ideally in a school-based setting.
* Have relevant experience in counselling around a range of mental health issues, as well as school and behavioural issues.
* Effectively liaise with staff and parents on strategies for students in need, ensuring the best care is provided.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in working with EAL students, particularly Mandarin speaking students and families.
