Mechanical Engineer – Electronic Packaging in Defence Sector My client is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a focus on electronic packaging to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team dedicated to serving the defence sector. As an industry leader in custom, low-volume defense solutions, they specialise in the integration of delivering customer specific components into advanced systems. The ideal candidate will design and develop the mechanical pacakge of our robust power supplies, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with stringent defense standards. Position: Mechanical Engineer (Electronic Packaging) Location: Crawley Job Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities: - Mechancial / Electronic Packaging Design: Apply engineering principles to design electronic enclosures that house COTS and custom components, ensuring successful operation in harsh defense environments. - Thermal Management: Evaluate and implement cooling strategies to maintain operability and longevity of electronic components under demanding conditions. - Product Development: Participate in the product development lifecycle from concept to production, including prototyping, testing, and validation. - Project Management: Coordinate with project managers to ensure timelines, resources, and deliverables meet or exceed client expectations. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree, HNC, HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Experience: Proven track record in mechanical design - Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), PDM / Vault - Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical abilities and problem-solving skills to tackle complex design and engineering challenges. - Security Clearance: Capability to obtain or currently holding appropriate security clearance is highly desirable.
