The main responsibilities for a Teaching Assistant are to: Support students with their socio-emotional engagement with learning and promote independence in a safe environment. Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each student. Promote the inclusion of all students, so that all have equal opportunities to feel included and to contribute to school life. Create a supportive and relaxed working environment that makes students feel happy and secure. Implement the positive behaviour approaches set out by the school, including Restorative Practice and Zones of Regulation. Ideal candidates will have a good understanding of ASD and Moderate Learning Difficulties in the classroom, as well as the theory underlying nurture provision.
