The Project As an experienced Electrical Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical installations on a new build industrial development with an M&E value in excess of £12m located in Northampton. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, playing a key role in its overall success. Requirements For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum; SMSTS CSCS / JIB / ECS First Aid (Desirable not essential) It is also essential that you hold the experience below; Demonstrated industry expertise with a proven history of successfully managing electrical packages for new build industrial projects Extensive background within the industry with at least 3 years of experience working in an Electrical Site Manager position or similar for a leading contractor or subcontractor Experience working on projects within the industrial sector is advantageous however all candidates with a portfolio of managing mechanical packages on medium-large scale developments are of interest Additional skills; Superb negotiation abilities In-depth electrical expertise Competent IT / software skills Effective communication skills, verbal and written Skilled in organising and managing project timelines Proven ability to lead, support, and direct a team effectively Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations A thorough understanding of relevant regulations and standards In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes Exceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications The Role Job Title: Electrical Site Manager Job Type: Long-term freelance Project: £12m new build industrial development Location: Northampton Duration: 10 / 12 months Reporting to: Visiting Contracts Manager Duties Inductions Toolbox talks Oversee subcontractors Conduct regular safety audits and site inspections Address on-site technical challenges and apply effective solutions Approve invoices for electrical work and manage contractor payments Ensure work progresses in alignment with the project plan and timeline Guarantee that all site operations comply with health and safety regulations Resolve any issues with materials, labor, or equipment that could delay the project Track project expenses and efficiently manage resources to align within project budget Coordinate with design teams to handle any discrepancies between design and site conditions Apply quality control procedures to ensure electrical installations comply with design standards Evaluate the quality of work to ensure it aligns with project specifications and standards efficiently Inspect electrical work at various project stages to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations Work closely with other trades (mechanical, civil, etc.) to coordinate electrical work and avoid potential conflicts Keep stakeholders informed and updated on any changes, delays, or issues concerning electrical installations Develop cost estimates and foresee any potential additional expenses that may emerge throughout the project Attend project meetings to provide updates on the progress of electrical work, timelines, and any potential risks Keep clients regularly informed by providing updates on the project's progress and maintaining open lines of communication throughout Maintain detailed records of all electrical activities, including completed work, inspections carried out, and any challenges encountered Oversee the testing and commissioning processes for electrical systems to ensure they function correctly and meet performance standards Organise and supervise inspections conducted by regulatory authorities, ensuring necessary corrections or adjustments are promptly addressed Make certain that workers receive training and adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Oversee the procurement of electrical materials and equipment to ensure timely delivery and keep the project on track This is a long-term freelance position with a competitive rate on offer for the successful candidate.
