Role: Compliance Manager
Location: Colne, Lancashire
Salary: Up to £40 60K Per annum
Taskmaster are excited to be recruiting for a well-established leading manufacturing company in Lancashire. They are seeking an Compliance Manager to join their growing team.
You will oversee product safety and compliance for the UK division by executing tasks necessary to ensure products manufactured and sold in the UK and EU meet all applicable compliance requirements. This role is crucial to ensuring all aspects of operations, sales, and marketing align with regulations, directives, and company policies.
This includes requesting testing, validating and filing compliance documentation, creating technical files, meeting specific requirements for customers, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. This role will also be responsible for monitoring the regulatory landscape and ensuring ongoing proactive compliance necessary to continually improve the product compliance efforts within La-Z-Boy. Leading the effort to elevate the product, our position in the furniture industry and capabilities to achieved applicable certifications is a necessity.
The role:
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with UK regulations and industry best practices
Ensure compliance to UK and EU regulations such as UK flammability regulations, UKTR, EUDR, GPSD, EU Machinery Regulation, REACH, etc
Monitor changes in legislation affecting the furniture industry and advise management on necessary adjustments to policies and practices
Perform gap analysis of current compliance, conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to ensure adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with various departments, including operations, supply chain, and sales, to ensure compliance is integrated into all aspects of the business
Provide support to employees on compliance-related matters, promoting a culture of integrity and accountability
Investigate compliance violations and manage reporting and corrective action processes.
Prepare and submit technical files as required by EU regulations.
Serve as the point of contact for UK and EU regulations for internal and external stakeholders
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging risks in compliance
Communicates objectives, updates, compliance topics and other relative information to stakeholders in effort to continue to improve the safety and compliance of purchased and manufactured products provided.
About you:
Bachelors Degree or 2-4 years of relevant experience
Proficient in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook),
Education or experience with, product safety, UK and EU furniture regulations.
Strong written and verbal skills
4+ years direct experience in a specific field of furniture safety or compliance
Significant experience in more than one field of furniture safety, compliance, stewardship, and/or testing
Familiarity with furniture construction, textiles, or small electronic products.
Experience working with Sourcing, Procurement, Quality, Engineering and/or Product Safety and Compliance
