Your experience of composite engineering and ability to manage manufacturing projects and customers will help you to coordinate projects from concept to delivery. As a Project Engineer, you will ensure the establishment of clear requirements for the project with the customer and project manage component manufacture through the factory while working with external suppliers as necessary.

About the job:
Our client currently requires a Project Engineer to work with their customers to manage the production of composite parts for industries including Defence, Aerospace, Simulation, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, using the latest technologies and techniques to manufacture high-quality and sustainable products. You will manage a series of new and existing customers to provide a service supplying them quality composite parts, ensuring a sustainable level of profit for the company. Sometimes working as part of a wider team on larger projects or running customer projects directly, the role is varied and requires someone of a practical nature.
Responsibilities:
1. Co-ordination of projects through concept to delivery.
2. Commercial responsibility & estimating.
3. Account management of customers.
4. Come up with innovative manufacturing solutions for parts.
5. Tool design when required.
6. Responsible for the input into Progress all new items, maintenance and upkeep of BOM’s, loading sales orders, and ensuring delivery notes are provided.
7. Ensure the establishment of clear requirements for the project with the customer prior to the commencement of manufacture.
8. Preparing Engineering Management plans, including estimates for schedule and resource requirements.
9. Produce clear work instructions for manufacturing staff.
10. Ensure materials are made available in a timely manner, either through direct procurement or delegating procurement activities.
11. Modify existing layup books and sign off sheets as parts evolve or react to quality issues.
12. Working with the quality team to ensure best practices.
13. Project manage component manufacture through the factory and work with external suppliers as necessary.
14. Co-ordination of part manufacture on the shop-floor with production supervisors.
15. Assistance with operating and maintaining shop-floor equipment such as Autoclaves and ovens.
16. Negotiation of variations to contract/job.
17. Ensuring the accounts department is kept up to date with invoicing, WIP, and assisting them with chasing overdue payments.
18. Experience with Designing in Siemens NX or Solidworks is highly beneficial.
About you:
As a Project Engineer, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
1. Degree level education in Engineering.
2. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
3. Experience with Composite and GRP materials and manufacturing.
