Please note that with effect from 1 April, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30, and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30, per annum / £16.64 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Paste job purpose/about the role
Cults Academy is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Principal Teacher: Pupil Support Curriculum to lead the Support for Learning Team at an exciting time at Cults Academy. The post holder will have the desired personal qualities and skills to lead an empowered team of teaching and non-teaching staff, developing staff leadership and removing barriers to learning for young people across the school, within the SFL Faculty and in the Enhanced Provision. As PT Pupil Support Curriculum, you will ensure that we identify any barriers to learning, maintain up to date and relevant information for teachers, co-ordinate additional assessment arrangements, provide first class targeted support to young people and work tirelessly to continually review our environment so that all have the best chance to thrive. You will play a key role in developing the strategic overview of inclusion within our school, working closely with the DHT (Pupil Support) The postholder will work in partnership with appropriate agencies and parents to support young people so that we can realise our ambitious wellbeing strategy: developing Culture, Relationships and Inclusion to support the wellbeing of all.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
1. Appropriate Teaching Qualification
2. Full GTC (Scotland) Registration in the appropriate subject / sector
