Chippindale Plant, as part of the AER Group, is one of the largest privately owned plant hire and sales group of companies in the UK.
The company was established in 1949 and operates out of 8 depots in the North of England, providing a complete hire and sales service for a wide range of Construction Plant, Tools, Excavator Attachments and Secure Site Accommodation.
This role operates from the North Yorkshire Area depot based at Catterick. Our trade is predominantly B2B with companies ranging from sole traders to national civil engineers, but we also deal with consumers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the efficient running of the Depot, comprising 9 staff and ensure it is running effectively and profitably.
2. Expand business opportunities with existing key account customers and be the central point of contact.
3. Focus on converting and developing new business for the depot, following leads through the web and the sales team.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Have at least five years’ experience working in the construction equipment hire industry.
2. Place a high priority on the implementation and maintenance of the health and safety management system to ensure compliance with ISO 45001.
3. An experienced sales professional who has strong negotiation, relationship, and man management skills.
4. Be highly motivated, self-reliant and capable of making difficult decisions under pressure.
5. Understand the depot cost base and what is required to run a profitable operation.
6. Show that they have a common-sense approach to operational management, setting high standards and expectations from their staff.
7. Can manage a fully compliant transport fleet.
8. Full understanding of hire management information systems and be IT literate.
9. Due to the geography of the area, live within a 60 minute drive from the Catterick depot.
10. Have a full driving licence.
