Job overview
As part of an expansion to our Radiology Services we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our dynamic Radiology Team at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford. We are looking for full time Band 7 Senior Radiographers, with proven NHS experience in cross sectional imaging and post grad specialism in CT.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Clinical responsibilities:
1. To take a lead role in the running of CT
2. To take an advanced/lead role in the Radiology department
3. The post holder will be expected to cover for the modality/service lead as required.
4. To carry out duties within a specialised environment as required
5. Support the modality lead in capacity management and utilisation of resources within the service.
6. To ensure that all patients are treated with consideration and care that is appropriate to their condition.
7. Liaise with other staff to ensure the smooth running of the Radiology services.
8. To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999, and other relevant regulations.
9. To take part in the provision of an out-of-hours service.
10. To take part in the department’s Quality Assurance programme.
11. Maintain professional standards at all times.
2. Managerial responsibilities:
1. To deputise for the Superintendents/Leads as required.
2. Participate in the development and implementation of protocols and procedures.
3. Take an active part in clinical audit.
4. Ensure that all Health and Safety regulations, Data Protection Act, Trust and Directorate policies are implemented.
3. Professional responsibilities:
1. To observe Trust, departmental, College of Radiographers and Health Professions Council codes of conduct.
2. To maintain State registration as required by the HCPC.
4. Education and development responsibilities:
1. To keep up to date in all new techniques and trends.
2. To participate and take an active role in the training and mentoring of radiographers and student radiographers.
