Job Details This role focuses on the architecture and technical design of our customer-facing web portals. These portals are critical for delivering a seamless online experience and driving customer engagement across our various brands, including Rentokil, Initial, and Ambius. The Technical Architect will play a key role in defining and delivering the technical strategy for our web portals. This includes: • Designing and documenting solutions that are scalable, secure, and performant. • Selecting and integrating appropriate technologies to meet business requirements. • Providing technical leadership and guidance to development teams. • Ensuring adherence to architectural principles and standards. • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions. • Ensure colleagues involved in design activities (eg Business Analysts, Technical Architects) are following best practice design principles in line with the company architectural strategy Tasks & Responsibilities: • Define and maintain the technical architecture for our web portals. • Design and document solutions for new features and enhancements. • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies to meet business needs. • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams. • Ensure adherence to architectural principles and security standards. • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements and feedback. • Monitor and optimise the performance and scalability of web portals. • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends. Requirements: Experience: • Proven experience as a Solution/Technical Architect for web applications. • Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, React, and CSS. • Experience with API gateways (Apigee preferred) and serverless technologies. • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related services. • Familiarity with Java and database technologies. • Experience with IAM tools (Auth0 preferred) and authentication/authorization protocols. • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Datadog preferred) and performance optimization techniques. • UML documentation • Data Modelling / Design Knowledge & Skills: • Strong understanding of web application architecture and design principles. • Experience with Agile development methodologies. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Qualification: IT-related or relevant degree.
