Bohunt Wokingham is seeking to recruit a talented and innovative PE practitioner, who teaches creative and inspiring lessons for students of all abilities. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about Physical Education, and has the necessary qualities to work with the Subject Leader as the Second in PE, to raise student and staff aspirations and standards of student attainment and achievement across the whole faculty. In the past 8 years, Bohunt Wokingham has developed a reputation at County and National Level for Sport, with Girls Football winning the National Cup in 2018 and 2022 and the British Championships in 2019. Alongside the success in Girls Football, the U13 Girls Rugby team were crowned National Touch Rugby Champions in 2023 and again in 2024. It is essential that you will need to commit to the thriving extra-curricular program, taking teams across a range of sports and age groups. We are regular attendees at Regional and National Competitions including Roslyn Park National 7's, and we travel abroad bi-annually for sport, with Canada our next destination in the Summer of 2026.
Students at Bohunt Wokingham have access to outstanding Sports facilities including an 8 Badminton Court Sports Hall, a 30ft Rock Climbing wall, a Dance Studio, a 3G Football Pitch (Rugby compliant), Floodlit Netball and Tennis Courts and a large field. In addition the PE staff have access to the 'Places Leisure' gym that is located on site.
Physical Education is extremely popular as a Key Stage 4 option, with GCSE PE boasting an impressive 0.81 in Progress 8 last year and 0.84 the year before. The department offers Physical Education GCSE (AQA), Sports Studies (Cambridge National), GCSE Dance (AQA), Child Development (Cambridge National). The successful candidate will be likely to teach exam classes in their first years, so experience with at least one of the courses above is desirable.
We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with nine schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility.
