Temporary Site Manager - Museums

Pay Rate: £19.00 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months

Basic DBS disclosure required
Candidates could be experienced caretaker with supervisory experience or have experience of managing and coordinating a visitor attraction.
A site manager to oversee the running of the mill site, including reservoir and country park, which is open to the public 7 days a week from a countryside perspective.There is a tenant on site with a café which is open 7 days a week. The candidate will act as liaison with the tenant, neighbours and contractors for all site related enquiries.
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring a safe, welcoming and high quality visitor experience.
Candidates will have excellent communication skills with a variety of stakeholders, and be able to respond quickly and professionally to all customer enquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the site/s operationally on a day-to-day basis to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for visitors, tenants and staff.
Manage and develop the multi-disciplinary site team
Be point of contact for tenants, contractors and neighbours
Have a key input into projects on site and improvements to visitor experience
Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customers, contractors and relevant internal and external organisations.
Place orders for goods and services as required.
Respond and effectively manage a range of customer enquiries and complaints in line with corporate frameworks.
Operating, maintaining and cleaning any site machinery or collections in line with operational standards
Ensure the collection and collation of performance management information such as visitor figures, income and donations
Attending events to promote the service as required
Qualifications:
Level 2 qualification
IOSH Managing Safely training or willingness to undertake
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the museum and visitor experience sector
Working knowledge of ICT systems
Experience:
Experience in a supervisory capacity at a museum or heritage attractions or similar
Experience and an aptitude for practical tasks
Experience of managing customer relationships.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats with members of the public, other employees and external organisations.
Strong time management skills with an ability to plan ahead and anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles.
Ability to develop practical solutions to problems
Ability to handle and process manual and computerised information, ensuring accuracy of processing and safeguarding of confidential information.
Ability to work flexibly as part of a wider team
Ability to understand the commercial drivers of the service
Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
